Look at the latest thing in spa covers!!!

When I first saw the amazing new SpaScenes
hot tub covers I couldn't believe my eyes. Yes, it's a spa cover with an awesome picture as a backdrop for your spa!!!

Picture this. You and your special someone are enjoying an evening of relaxation in your hot tub with some friends . There is wine, candle light, soft music, and that amazing panoramic view as a backdrop. You'll honestly think you're in paradise, and your friends will be so impressed they won't be able to stop talking about their evening in your spa.

Gone are the days of those ugly, drab brown and black hard covers that we've all had to put up with in order to keep our spas clean and safe. Anyone can install these new spascenes. They come complete with an easy to follow installation video, and only the simplest of tools are required to complete the job. You'll also be particularity surprised by the price. I expected the spa scenes to be very expensive, but was happy to find that they are very reasonable in price. They are waterproof, chemical and tear resistant, and can be used in both cold and hot climates.

I could honestly go on and on about this latest spa accessory, but you just have to visit the website for yourself. It's www.spascenes.com . Read what others are saying and see the pictures of their spas before and after. You'll be sold just like we were.

A great resource for new businesses....

The town we live in here in Southeast Texas is growing by leaps and bounds. Just in the past 15 years we have seen tremendous changes with new businesses opening up every few months.

In my opinion, a site that lists all of the
franchise opportunities that are available for a given area would be the best resource for anyone looking to start a new business. Franchise Gator is just such a site. Franchises are listed by category and you can check to see what is available in your area. It's a franchise search engine more or less. Everything you need right there in one website. Now that's easy!

Being prepared........

We were talking to some friends of ours the other day. They said that their financial adviser had suggested that they get some life insurance. Of course they were concerned that they wouldn't be able to pass a physical. He gave them the name of a company that offers a life insurance no exam plan.

Well, they contacted the company and were pleased to find out that other than some yes or no questions, they were set to go, no exam required. You just can't put a price on the peace of mind that comes with being prepared.

Time to redecorate..........

Those of you who own a home know all about how things are never done. You paint one room and then the next one looks tacky in comparison. It's never ending! I really enjoy decorating, though, so to me it's all fun.

I have some new wallpaper and border paper that I want to put up in our great room. Once that is done, I'll need new curtains to go with the new wall treatment. This site I found for discount curtains offers a wide variety of fabrics and styles. They have velvets, silks, casual looks as well as formal, all custom designed.

With the wide variety that they have to offer, I think my biggest problem is going to be deciding just which style and fabric I want for our room.

Exercise, we all need to get more of it...

It is really hot here in South Texas. Most days it's in the mid 90s, though it can be even hotter. It can be cooler too, though in the summer, rarely out of the 80s.

Our doctor recently told us both that we needed to get more exercise. So, we did some research and decided that an elliptical was the best buy for us. We don't have space for a lot of equipment, so we needed something that would give us a good workout. This is it!! They are adjustable so a person can work design their workout program to suit their needs.

We are just thrilled with ours and are already seeing results in the few weeks we've been using it.

Advertising for our business

My husband and I buy and sell antiques and collectibles. We both have always loved and appreciated things that have been around for a long time. This business was a perfect fit for us both.

Recently when looking for a good way to advertise and to reach the greatest number of people possible, we purchased some logo pens. To me that is the perfect form of advertising. We give them out to everyone we have contact with and, of course, we stick one into the bag when a customer makes a purchase. It's proven to be an excellent form of advertising. A great way to get a lot out of our advertising dollar.

Our son the gormet cook........

Our son has become quite to gourmet cook over the years. It's always a treat when we visit him and get a chance to sample his latest dishes.

The last time we were there, he was showing us some pans that he bought online. He said that the pella pan is made in Spain and Portugal, and he was told by a chef friend of his that this product is the best thing he'd seen in a long time.

Well, Steve bought a pan, was so impressed he ordered a few more pieces and some of their ceramic tableware as well. We're going to be visiting him in August. I can't wait to see what he cooks up with his new kitchen accessories.

Videos on the web

I really enjoy the videos that are available on the internet and am always looking for some that contain unique content to use in my blogs. Over the weekend I came across a site I found impressive, so wanted to share it with you. It's Gonnabe.com.

One of the things that impressed me about Gonnabe.com is that it's easy to navigate. The way it's laid out makes it easy to find the category of video that you're looking for. Right now they are featuring a hilarious "Barbie" video that you just have to see.

My grand kids are always using my computer when they come over. I'm going to put a shortcut to Gonnabe on my desktop for them. I must say, this is one site that I will be glad to have them enjoy. The videos are all in good taste proving you can be tasteful as well as funny. Check it out. I'm pretty sure you'll agree.

Beauty Comes In All Sizes

All of my adult life I have been a size 7/8. Not so anymore. That's okay, though. It's only been since the 1970s that skinny has been "gold standard" for beauty in woman.

Nowadays, though, I'm please to see that more and more lines of clothing are available in plus sizes, even lovely lingerie. In fact, while searching for some things online I came across a site that sells plus size lingerie. They have such beautiful things, and in styles will flatter any woman's form, no matter what size she is.

Beauty truly does come in all sizes, and like most men, my husband prefers a little meat on his woman's bones. =)

Grandkids, what a blessing

Our daughter, her husband and their two little girls, ages 10 and almost 8 just left. They had been out to eat and stopped in for a visit. They haven't done that for a while so it was really a treat. How great to see them and have a chance to visit. We do see them, but it's usually a group thing so we don't get a chance to really catch up. So, this was an overdue visit.

Our granddaughters are going to come back tomorrow night to stay. I think we'll keep them overnight and have a really good bonding time with them. They're great kids and so much fun to have around.

We consider ourselves so blessed. Thank you Lord! =)

A New Job For Our Son

It seems that companies these days aren't offering the packages they once did. When my husband was working, everyone offered insurance as well as a retirement plan. That isn't the case anymore.

Our son just got a new job and we're all so excited for him as it's a huge step up for his career. However, they don't offer life insurance so he's had to shop for his own.

I have more time than he does, so I did some searching and found this wonderful site where he can get a life insurance quote and find the best deal and price available. He found just what he needed at the price he can afford. Now he can relax about that issue at least, and concentrate on learning his new job.

"Lefthandedness" trivia

I'm left handed. Only one of my three children are also left handed, and one of my 9 grandchildren is too. All females.

In my family of origin, my oldest brother is left handed. The two of us were the only ones out of 7 children for mom and dad who are left handed.

Did you know that Obama and McCain are both left handed as was Bill Clinton and all but a few of our presidents over the years? Isn't that interesting? I think so.

Being left handed makes us "left brained" as well. That is the creative side of our brain. I can see that in my daughter and granddaughter. Not sure about my brother, though he is a leader and would have been more so had his health not sidetracked him.

The world forces left-handers to be ambidextrous. Think about this for a moment. As I look around the room here I see my camera. The button to take a picture is on the top on the RIGHT SIDE. The chain for my desk light, also on the right. These are just a few things. If you remember to do so, notice what side things are on as you go about your day.

It's not a big deal, but interesting to think about.

One never knows.........

Anyone who knows me, knows that shopping online is something that I do myself, and that I am a strong advocate of. I buy most things online, other than groceries, of course.

I don't have to tell you that you can't believe everything you read, so it's comforting to find a clearinghouse that has put the effort into find out about products that are for sale online.

I was looking for some anti wrinkle cream and found this site that offers detailed information on the products that are available. It gives me confidence when I order from a site that has done their homework. That's just plain good business. I'd like to see more sites like this and as time goes on, am sure that we will.

Father's Day Is Next Sunday, June 15

I am reminding you as well as myself. I like to remember my husband in some special way on Father's Day. Our kids all call him or come over if they are nearby.

Being a Father is a special job and it takes a special person to do a good job of it. I have a son and two sons-in-law who are shining examples of what fathers should be. I intend to acknowledge them as well.

Don't forget the fathers in your life next Sunday.

My grandson's birthday.....

My grandson is having a birthday next month. He is really into games and amazes me how well he does on them for his age. He is only 9, afterall.

Anyway he wants a playstation 3 this year, so I searched and found this site online that has the system for a really good price. They offer free shipping as well. Needless to say I have ordered it so that it will be here in plenty of time.

The other family members are going to order games and accessories from the same site. They have good prices and all the latest and most popular games too. That makes it a lot easier when you can get it all at one place.

Some Help Loosing Weight

I have been fighting to lose the extra pounds that I gained over the winter. I'm having some good success but it's slow.

My friend told me about a product she's been using that helped her lose 7 pounds in as many days. It's called Orovo detox. I checked out the website and was impressed with the long list of natural ingredients that are in it.

I'm going to send for it. That loss of 7 pounds would put me right where my doctor wants me to be. I'll let you know.

Ah, The Golden Years

We all have heard that phrase, "The Golden Years". Since I entered this phase in life, I have occasionally asked myself who it was that coined this phrase, and just how old was he or she.

Aside from the aches, pains and uncertainties of getting older, I do feel that there is a peace about this time in life that one can only achieve by having lived life. One learns that tomorrow is promised to no one, so we must live today to the fullest.

I do think that it's also important to add to our peace of mind by taking steps to insure that when the unexpected happens, we're ready. That is why I feel it's important to have medicare insurance. It offers that added security that comes with knowing that we have our bases covered to the best of our ability. That leaves us free to relax and just enjoy these Golden Years, one day at a time.

Until next time,

Money Problems!!

There are many people who are feeling the squeeze on their wallets at this point in time. I don't have to list for you the many reasons why this is so right now. We're all too aware of the economic issues facing most of us. What I can do, however, is offer some suggestions on how you can help yourself.

Many find that they have way too many credit cards and the fees these companies charge are making matters worse for them financially. I would like to suggest checking into a
balance transfer credit card. Getting away from all of those credit card fees can go a long way towards lowering your out lay each month. That money you save can go towards paying off some debt. Getting out of debt and staying out is certainly what our focus should be.

This will pay huge dividends in peace of mind. We all need as much of that as we can get.

Girls Night Out

Last night my girls and I went to dinner and the movies. What a great night it was. We laughed and talked and just enjoyed time together. When I look at my girls I praise God for giving them to me and for the wonderful relationship we share. They both have grown into such amazing women. I am proud beyond words of the people they have become.

I look forward to many more "girls night out" with them. We just may have started a great new family tradition. =)

A night with the girls

Recently, my two daughters and I went out to dinner and a movie. During dinner we were all bemoaning the fact that we have gained some unwanted pounds, and each of us is determined to lose them.

My oldest daughter said she had been hearing a lot about a weight loss aid, Leptitrex. She said a friend of hers was using it and was very happy with the results.

I'm a firm believer in doing whatever it takes to rid oneself of extra pounds. Added weight is hard on our entire bodies in addition to causing us to not feel good about ourselves. I encouraged the girls to join me in adding exercise to our weight loss routine as well. After all, it's not just about looking our best, but about feeling good and being healthy.

Computers! What did we do without them?

I have family and friend spread out all over the world. There was a time that I spent hours writing letters and sending out greeting cards.

Computers have changed all of that. Now, I can write and email and within minutes, my friends or family members have a letter from me right there in front of them. It's an incredible time. I just love it.

I appreciate that I can search online and find all that I need as well. Right now I need to add some memory to my computer. Many people can't believe that at my age I know how to replace and add hardware to my computer without a problem. I have my techno-savvy kids to thank for this skill.

Until next time, happy "computing"
